For your encouragement:

Moorabbey on the road to the Glen of Aherlow was a Franciscan Abbey built in 1204.  Three of its friars were martyred there in 1570 and the story goes that on being beheaded no blood flowed from their necks.
September 1:  Feast of Bb. John of Perugia and Peter of Sassoferrato, Martyrs of the First Order:

Blessed John & Peter, who were sent to the Moors by St. Francis, were arrested and martyred, by the Moslems at Valencia, in Spain.  Before suffering martyrdom, on their knees they asked God for the conversion of King Azor, who had pronounced sentence of death against them.  Their prayer was answered.  The king was converted a short time later, called the Friars Minor to him, humbly admitted his crime, and offered them his own palace as a monastery.
Clement XI confirmed the cultus of these blessed martyrs.

Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints!!!
