TO OUR FELLOW CATHOLICS:

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE REPOSE OF THE SOUL OF MADELINE LENTZ WHO PASSED AWAY AT 3:15 A.M. TODAY.  SHE WAS ONE FINE LADY AND EXCELLENT CATHOLIC.  IN FACT, BOTH HER HUSBAND JOSEPH (WHO DIED ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO) AND SHE WERE STAUNCH, FERVENT CATHOLICS WHO FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT.

ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO HER O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HER.  MAY SHE REST IN PEACE. AMEN.

  1. Our dear Maddie passing out of this world on Friday in Easter Week, also Feast of St. Paul of the Cross, founder of the Passionists. Very fitting for Madeline, as she patiently suffered for many, many years. May she rest in peace.

  2. I Loved her and my Father very much. Lived in the house in all my life and since my dad's passing. I did all my best to take over duties of caring for mother by putting her/getting out of bed daily, putting her on the comode (portable toilet), and putting her on the power chair with the use of a hand operated medical lift. My wrist was hurting when using that lift, but since I haven't used the lift in the last 3 weeks she was in the hospital my wrist is feeling better. Thankfully I was unemployed during all this to be able to help my Mother out. I tried looking for Full-time and even some Part-time employment, but hard to do when you are basically tied down. I might have been able to get away for a few hours to do that, but not in the last 2 months since the first time she was in the hospital back in February.

Well, now I no longer have any excuse for not finding any employment. I will be hitting the job sites very very soon, especially after the funeral.

I will be back to attending Mass EVERY SUNDAY from now on. Thank You Sister Bridget for helping me in this manner by bringing my Aunt Maggie to church when I couldn't do it.

We need to make changes to The Living Rosary, since my Father and Mother each had a Mystery, I do too....but its hard for me to try to pray 3 mysteries. Besides it is time I think to re-do the LIVING ROSARY list.

  3. BTW: Her Funeral is on Wednesday, May 4 @ 10:00am and it will be at the Hartson Funeral Home in Hales Corners...the same place as my dad's. The Wake is Tuesday afternoon from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. At 7:00pm Father will lead all of us in the Franciscan Crown Rosary for the repose of her soul.

  4. Angela has already volunteered to take over both your mom and dad's mysteries.

Your life is really going to change now but God has really watched over you.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for you taking care of your mother like you did.

She will be truly missed but she will be looking out for us !!

  5. Beautiful, John, for the care you were able to give your Mother all this time in your family home. It must have meant all the world to her. Also Angela, how beautiful to take Grandpa and Grandma's Living Rosary decades.

God continue to bless you and all the family.

I am in Illinois until late Thursday afternoon or Friday during the day, which means, sadly, I will not be able to attend the funeral in person, but will be there in spirit, both for the Rosary and Requiem Mass.

  6. Also wish to correct big error in my previous post: Besides being Friday in Easter Week this year, April 29th is not feast of St. Paul of the Cross, but rather the young martyr, St. Peter of Verona, one of dear Sr. Antonina's favorite saints. Fitting!

It also happens to be the same date as the death of my Aunt Cecelia (April 29, 1998), herself a faithful devotee of the Rosary. My book, "A Saint a Day" also commemorates St. Louis de Montfort, tireless preacher of the Rosary.

I'm always happy when someone I love is either born or passes out of this world on feast days that have special meaning to me, and to others of us with the same spiritual ties.
