Today is a special day  for the Franciscan Order.  We have a new friar who will be studying for the priesthood.  Most of us thought we would see only one ordination in our life time but, God willing, we may see another one or two.  But it is all up to us!
It is our duty as Catholics to pray for our new friar and all of the Franciscan friars like our very life depended on it.  BECAUSE IT DOES!   Where would we be without our clergy?  Would any of us have a chance of eternal life?  It would be very, very difficult if not impossible to save our souls without their help.

Prayer and penance for the order should be a daily, if not hourly, privilege. Yes, it is a privilege and a gift from God that we even have the true Church - look at all of the deceived people in the world - even in our own families!  We do not deserve anything that we have been given and so keep that humbling thought in the back of your minds as you do some serious prayer and penance for the First Order of St. Francis.

  1. I know about Brother Leonard. Is the other one Dominic Lentz? Found out through Angela Lentz on Facebook.

  2. Brother Anthony is his name. God bless both of them and may He grant us two new priests to fight the good fight!

  3. Prophecy of St. Nicholas of Fluh (1417-1487):
The Church will be punished because the majority of her members, high and low, will become so perverted. The Church will sink deeper and deeper until she will at last seem to be extinguished, and the succession of Peter and the other Apostles to have expired. But, after this, she will be victoriously exalted in the sight of all doubters."

Consider all that has happened in Mexico and how the congregation under Bishop Madrigal has blossomed. Consider Father Bonaventure's ordination and Father Joseph's excellent radio program. Consider Brother Anthony's entrance into the seminary. Take a look at how our Church has produced two new Bishops in recent years and the above prophecy sure seems to be on the mark.

The gates of hell shall NOT prevail against it.
