BREAKING: Obama Opposes, Democrats Defeat Sex-Selection Abortion Ban
Democrats in the House of Representatives prevented passage of a bill that would ban sex-selection abortions. The legislation needed a two-thirds vote and Democrats voted overwhelmingly against the legislation after President Barack Obama and Planned Parenthood came out in opposition.
With a 246-168 vote, the bill did not obtain the two-thirds majority necessary to pass. Republicans voted for the bill on a 226-7 margin while Democrats opposed banning sex-selection abortions on 161-20 vote margin.
The bill would make it a federal offense to knowingly do any one of the following four things: (1) perform an abortion, at any time in pregnancy, “knowing that such abortion is sought based on the sex or gender of the child”; (2) use “force or threat of force. . . for the purpose of coercing a sex-selection abortion”; (3) solicit or accept funds to perform a sex-selection abortion; or (4) transport a woman into the U.S. or across state lines for this purpose. However, “A woman upon whom a sex-selection abortion is performed may not be prosecuted or held civilly liable for any violation . . .” http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/29/video-planned-parenthood-encourages-woman-to-get-sex-selection-abortion/

The Sunday

Sermon

Dear Friends,
The thought of the Trinity brings to mind a common and frequent tradition of all true Christians (Catholics). We have the tradition of frequently signing ourselves with the Sign of the Cross. This practice is handed down to us in Tradition and for this reason is denied or at least not practiced by many heretics and non-Catholics. This tradition is inspired by God and not by men.
Tradition is an equal source of revelation as that of Holy Scripture. The Sign of the Cross professes our belief in the Crucifixion of Jesus (the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity) and our belief in the same Blessed Trinity. We name three Persons in One God. We do not say in the “Names” (plural) but in the “Name” (singular). Thus professing our belief in the Unity of God or His Oneness and at the same time likewise, professing our belief in the Trinity of Three Persons.
Tradition is handed over to us in a kind of mystery. The Bishops (successors of the apostles) have been entrusted with and commanded to protect and to pass on to others all the traditions they have received from true and legitimate sources. The papacy as the head and source of unity for all true bishops, is entrusted with ensuring these traditions in the faithful as well as maintaining union with their brothers the fellow bishops.
Throughout history we see tradition attacked by fallen away bishops, priests, and laity. Each one began a new schism or heresy, many of which continue in existence today. The papacy and all the bishops in union have condemned these without reserve or hesitation even when it meant the loss of hundreds and thousands of souls.
The truths of tradition cannot be denied as all truths reflect God Himself – every error is an insult or attack upon God because God is Truth Itself. There was then, as is now, no way to reconcile error with truth. All our true traditions are good and every attack upon these traditions must be evil. There can be no middle ground. Every attack or denial of Jesus Christ as true God and true Man is an evil error and all those who obstinately espouse these errors must be barred from the Church and eternal salvation. The Pagan, the Atheist, the Jew, the Muslim, etc. are all on their way to Hell because there is no salvation without Christ.
Many “Christians” deny the Catholic teaching and revealed traditions that the Holy Ghost proceeds from the Father and the Son, are likewise barred from the Church and salvation. It seems a small matter but it is not. Every ritual teaches a truth or doctrine and therefore: denying, throwing out, or modifying any tradition amounts to the same as denying throwing out or modifying the doctrine associated with the tradition.
We Catholics must hold to all our traditions especially those not only handed down to us but confirmed and guaranteed to us until the end of time. The Council of Trent under the infallible direction of Pope Pius V guided by the Holy Ghost codified and preserved forever (at least in the Latin rite) the manner and form of the Mass. This was done to halt and prevent the influence of the Protestant (heretics) of that time and those of the future from ever infiltrating or wearing down the sacred truths and traditions inspired by the Holy Ghost and handed down to us from our predecessors.
The Modernists have cast aside this Mass and many other traditions which ultimately led to a denial of the very doctrines professed by these traditions. They invited and accepted the “help” of heretics in designing and implementing their “New Mass” (Novus Ordo Missae) so that there would be nothing offensive to the heretics. The Modernists far from converting the heretics, allowed themselves to be converted to heresy.
Let us continue to hold fast to all that has been given to us. It will necessitate that we cooperate with the Holy Ghost and stand firm against all attempts to rob us or lead us away from the truth or the Church. Even if we must stand alone, let us never bend to the evil influences that would take away the traditions and therefore doctrines of the Church. Let us be ready to die rather than ever sin. We are temples of the Holy Ghost – let us make sure He is always at home and at rest in our souls – and never insult Him by denying any of the traditions inspired by Him especially those relating to the Sacraments and associated doctrines.

THIS IS A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME-VERY INTERESTING ARTICLE!!!!
    :

“Would that I could persuade all men to be devoted to this glorious Saint [St. Joseph], for I know by long experience what blessings he can obtain for us from God. I have never known anyone who was truly devoted to him and honored him by particular services who did not advance greatly in virtue: for he helps in a special way those souls who commend themselves to him... I ask for the love of God that he who does not believe me will make the trial for himself—then he will find out by experience the great good that results from commending oneself to this glorious Patriarch and in being devoted to him.”

    The Sunday

    Sermon

    Dear Friends,
There is only one true Church; and it is only within this Church that the Holy Ghost dwells. There are many false churches – numerous ones that even use the name of Jesus Christ, but they will be counted among those to whom our Lord will say on the last day: “Depart from Me you workers of iniquity. I know you not.” The Holy Ghost only sanctifies those within the Church or those to whom He desires to be lead into the Church.
It is clear enough from the events that we recall today that the Apostles were filled with the Holy Ghost and the Church continues this grace through the successors of the Apostles – the true bishops. What we often fail to consider is that the Holy Ghost worked likewise upon all that heard the Apostles and were converted. By our baptism and confirmation we have received the Holy Ghost and have become His temples. There is a constant stream of graces offered to us by Him for our sanctification if we will only cooperate with Him. Those who heard the Apostles preach and believed and were baptized, cooperated with the Holy Ghost and received Him and His graces.
We see that the Holy Ghost works from both sides (the Church hierarchy and the Church laity) to bring about most successfully the salvation of souls. While we pray for our bishops and priests that they may more completely cooperate with the Holy Ghost, we must not forget to do our own part. We must likewise make ourselves God’s worthy temples.
We must constantly remind ourselves that we belong to God. We have been purchased at a great price – the life of Christ – and have been cleansed and sanctified by the grace of the Holy Ghost through the sacraments. We are temples of God. Our bodies and souls are sacred and are not to be profaned. While we see so many others who are not members of the true Church go this way or that or do this or that, we must refrain and/or restrain ourselves from acting in like manner because we have been sanctified and have received the Holy Ghost. It is most unfitting to take that which is holy and sacred and profane it. It is similar to the sacrilege of desecrating a church, or any other object dedicated to God. If only we could see with the eyes of our souls what a terrible evil sin is!
The Holy Ghost does not come to us all in the same manner or in the same degree. So we must also constantly remind ourselves to remain humble. We must never allow the gifts that God has given us to puff us up with pride or vanity. One of the reasons why the Holy Ghost does not shower us with so many miraculous manifestations today is because they would prove more harmful to us than beneficial. Men today are more prone to pride and vanity and tend to steal the honor and glory from God by attributing His gifts to themselves. How much worse this would be if they were given more wondrous gifts?
We must also refrain from envy or jealousy when we see the various graces that God has bestowed upon others. Rather than fall into this temptation we should be thankful and praise God for His goodness and mercy. We must see that all that He does is well done.
The gifts that He has given us are not only for our own good but for the good of others also. The graces that the Apostles received were not just for themselves but, were for the sanctification of others. Likewise, the graces that we each receive in whatever station in life God has called us, are not for ourselves, they are not really even our own. We have no right to them. They belong to God and He is to be glorified by them. They are to be shared with one another to assist in bringing others along with ourselves to give greater honor and glory to God.
     NINTH DAY
    Thou, on those who evermore
    Thee confess and Thee adore
    In Thy sevenfold gifts, descend:
    Give them comfort when they die;
    Give the life with Thee on high;
Give them joys which never end. Amen.
THE FRUITS of the HOLY GHOST
The gifts of the Holy Ghost perfect the supernatural virtues by
enabling us to practice them with greater docility to divine
inspiration. As we grow in the knowledge and love of God under the
direction of the Holy Ghost, our service becomes more sincere and
generous, the practice of virtue becomes more perfect. Such acts of
virtue leave the heart filled with joy and consolation and are known
as Fruits of the Holy Ghost. These Fruits in turn render the practice
of virtue more attractive and become a powerful incentive for still
greater efforts in the service of God, to serve Whom is to reign.

    Prayer

Come, O Divine Spirit, fill my heart with Thy heavenly fruits, Thy
charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, faith, mildness,
and temperance, that I may never weary on the service of God, but by
continued faithful submission to Thy inspiration may merit to be
united eternally with Thee in the love of the Father and the Son.
    Amen.

ACT OF CONSECRATION to the HOLY GHOST
On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer
myself, soul and body, to Thee, Eternal Spirit of God. I adore the
brightness of Thy purity, the unerring keenness of Thy justice, and
the might of Thy love. Thou art the Strength and Light of my soul. In
Thee I live and move and am. I desire never to grieve Thee by
unfaithfulness to grace, and I pray with all my heart to be kept from
the smallest sin against Thee. Mercifully guard my every thought and
grant that I may always watch for Thy light, and listen to Thy voice,
and follow Thy gracious inspirations. I cling to Thee and give myself
to Thee and ask Thee, by Thy compassion, to watch over me in my
weakness. Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus, and looking at His five
wounds, and trusting in His Precious Blood, and adoring His opened
side and stricken Heart, I implore Thee, Adorable Spirit, Helper of
my infirmity, so to keep me in Thy grace that I may never sin against
Thee. Give me grace, O Holy Ghost, Spirit of the Father and the Son,
to say to Thee always and everywhere, "Speak Lord, for Thy servant
    heareth." Amen.

PRAYER for the SEVEN GIFTS of the HOLY GHOST
O Lord Jesus Christ Who, before ascending into heaven, didst promise
to send the Holy Ghost to finish Thy work in the souls of Thy
Apostles and Disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me
that He may perfect in my soul the work of Thy grace and Thy love.
Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom that I may despise the perishable
things of this world and aspire only after the things that are
eternal; the Spirit of Understanding to enlighten my mind with the
light of Thy divine truth; the Spirit of Counsel that I may ever
choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining heaven; the Spirit
of Fortitude that I may bear my cross with Thee and that I may
overcome with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation; the
Spirit of Knowledge that I may know God and know myself and grow
perfect in the science of the Saints; the Spirit of Piety that I may
find the service of God sweet and amiable; the Spirit of Fear that I
may be filled with a loving reverence towards God and may dread in
any way to displease Him. Mark me, dear Lord, with the sign of Thy
true disciples and animate me in all things with Thy Spirit. Amen.

     EIGHTH DAY
    Bend the stubborn heart and will;
    Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray!

    THE GIFT OF WISDOM

Embodying all the other gifts, as charity embraces all the other
virtues, Wisdom is the most perfect of the gifts. Of Wisdom it is
written "all good things come to me with her, and innumerable riches
through her hands." It is the gift of Wisdom that strengthens our
faith, fortifies hope, perfects charity, and promotes the practice of
virtue in the highest degree. Wisdom enlightens the mind to discern
and relish things divine, in the appreciation of which earthly joys
lose their savor, whilst the Cross of Christ yields a divine
sweetness according to the words of the Savior: "Take up thy cross
and follow me, for my yoke is sweet and my burden light."

    Prayer

Come, O Spirit of Wisdom, and reveal to my soul the mysteries of
heavenly things, their exceeding greatness, power and beauty. Teach
me to love them above and beyond all the passing joys and
satisfactions of earth. Help me to attain them and possess them for
    ever. Amen.

     SEVENTH DAY
    Heal our wounds--our strength renew;

    THE GIFT OF COUNSEL

The gift of Counsel endows the soul with supernatural prudence,
enabling it to judge promptly and rightly what must be done,
especially in difficult circumstances. Counsel applies the principles
furnished by Knowledge and Understanding to the innumerable concrete
cases that confront us in the course of our daily duty as parents,
teachers, public servants, and Christian citizens. Counsel is
supernatural common sense, a priceless treasure in the quest of
salvation. "Above all things, pray to the Most High, that He may
    direct thy way in truth."

All his good is turned to ill.
    THE GIFT OF UNDERSTANDING
Understanding, as a gift of the Holy Ghost, helps us to grasp the
meaning of the truths of our holy religion. By faith we know them,
but by Understanding we learn to appreciate and relish them. It
enables us to penetrate the inner meaning of revealed truths and
through them to be quickened to newness of life. Our faith ceases to
be sterile and inactive, but inspires a mode of life that bears
eloquent testimony to the faith that is in us; we begin to "walk
worthy of God in all things pleasing, and increasing in the knowledge
    of God."

    Prayer

Come, O Spirit of Understanding, and enlighten our minds, that we may
know and believe all the mysteries of salvation; and may merit at last
to see the eternal light of Thy Light; and in the light of glory to
have a clear vision of Thee and the Father and the Son. Amen.

“Therefore, because you have been made members of Christ I must warn you; for I fear dangers for you, and not alone from those who are pagans, not alone from the Jews, and not so much from the heretics as from bad Catholics. For if you wish to imitate the multitude, you shall not then be among the few who shall enter in by the narrow way.” St. Augustine (c. 413)

    THE GIFT OF KNOWLEDGE

The gift of Knowledge enables the soul to evaluate created things at
their true worth in their relation to God. Knowledge unmasks the
pretense of creatures, reveals their emptiness, and points out their
only true purpose as instruments in the service of God. It shows us
the loving care of God even in adversity, and directs us to glorify
Him in every circumstance of life. Guided by its light, we put first
things first, and prize the friendship of God beyond all else.
"Knowledge is a fountain of life to him that possesseth it."

    Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Knowledge, and grant that I may perceive
the will of the Father; show me the nothingness of earthly things,
that I may realize their vanity and use them only for Thy glory and

    FOURTH DAY
    Thou in toil art comfort sweet;
    Pleasant coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.

    THE GIFT OF FORTITUDE

By the gift of Fortitude the soul is strengthened against natural
fear, and supported to the end in the performance of duty. Fortitude
imparts to the will an impulse and energy which move it to undertake
without hesitancy the most arduous tasks, to face dangers, to trample
under foot human respect, and to endure without complaint the slow
martyrdom of even lifelong tribulation. "He that shall persevere unto
the end, he shall be saved."

    Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Fortitude uphold my soul in time of
troubles and adversity, sustain my efforts after holiness, strengthen
my weakness, give me courage against all the assaults of my enemies,
that I may never be overcome and separated from Thee, my God and

Amen.

     THIRD DAY
    Thou, of all consolers best,
    Visiting the troubled breast,
    Dost refreshing peace bestow.

    THE GIFT OF PIETY
The gift of Piety begets in our hearts a filial affection for God as
our most loving Father. It inspires us to love and respect for His
sake persons and things consecrated to Him, as well as those who are
vested with His authority, His Blessed Mother and the Saints, the
Church and its visible Head, our parents and superiors, our country
and its rulers. He who is filled with the gift of Piety finds the
practice of his religion, not a burdensome duty, but a delightful
service. Where there is love, there is no labor.

    Prayer
Come, O Blessed Spirit of Piety, possess my heart. Enkindle therein
such a love for God, that I may find satisfaction only in His
service, and for His sake lovingly submit to all legitimate
    authority. Amen

Birmingham Abortion Clinic Surrenders License, Closes Down

    May 19, 2012

Birmingham, AL - Pro-life groups around the country are celebrating today after the New Woman All Women (NWAW) abortion clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, surrendered its license to the State Health Department Friday and ceased operations.

"This is a huge victory that would not have been possible without the dedication of pro-life activists such as Fr. Terry Gensemer of CEC for Life, who tirelessly worked with Operation Rescue, Life Legal Defense, The Survivors, and others to make sure that this dangerous abortion mill closed for good. It is an example of what can be accomplished when pro-life groups work together toward a common goal," said Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Nation. "Without our combined work, this clinic would still be taking the lives of innocent babies today."

The State ordered the closure after pro-life activists filmed two women being carried out of the run-down building to awaiting ambulances on January 21, 2012, and reported the incident to authorities. A 911 call obtained by the activists revealed that the abortion clinic had overdosed the women on a dangerous drug. When the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) investigated, they discovered 76 pages of deficiencies, including a third botched abortion victim. Many of the deficiencies were repeat violations.

Another company, Ochata Management, LLC, attempted to apply for a license to keep the abortion clinic open, however, pro-life activists discovered connections between Ochata and the NWAW owner Diane Derzis. The consent order specifically prohibited Derzis from having any connections with the new owners. The ADPH rejected Ochata's license application, citing two lease agreements that would continue to give Derzis control of the abortion business and receive all of its profits.

"We continue to remain vigilant and will actively oppose anyone who attempts to reopen this abortion clinic," said Newman. "But today, we celebrate."

    The Sunday

    Sermon

    Dear Friends,
The Word of God should be given great respect because it is sacred. We show great reverence and care in receiving the Body of Christ in Holy Communion, so likewise we must reverence the word of God. God’s words reveal Himself to us in a very profound manner. When we even speak the Name of Jesus every head should bow, so likewise when we hear those commissioned by God to speak in His name we should be very respectful and attentive.

How often when the preacher of the sacred Word begins do we relax, stretching out and making ourselves comfortable as if we were being entertained, like watching the television or listening to the radio? How dare we receive our God; our Lord and Redeemer, our Sanctifier in this attitude! Is it any wonder that we take so little away from so many sermons? People show more respect for the words of others than for the words of God.
The prophet Amos foretold the day when there would be a famine of not bread or water but of the Word of God (Amos 8, 11). When God’s words are treated so carelessly is it any wonder that He has taken them away? Men have taken with “itching ears” (2 Tim 4, 3) the fables of heretics as mentioned by St. Paul. Many preach using the name of Jesus but they do not really preach Jesus, rather they preach themselves. On that last day they will say, “did we not preach in Your Name?” and Our Lord will say “Depart from Me you workers of iniquity. I know you not.” (Matt 7, 23)

Too often we approach the sermon or spiritual reading without the proper attitude or intention. This is not a time to relax or daydream. It is rather a time to sit up erect and pay attention trying to absorb every word because it is coming from God Himself directly to us through His minister. Listening to recordings of these sermons should be given the same attention and respect. Likewise, when we read the sermons of our pastors and the sermons from the many Fathers and Saints we should give all our attention in like manner.

There are many who cannot attend Mass personally in these days, and are forced to rely upon internet broadcasts of the Mass and sermons. We have invited these people reminding them that God accepts the desire for the deed. We encourage these souls to attend and receive spiritually. Those forced by circumstances such as these are encouraged to show proper respect and attention just as if they were present. Let us not watch the Mass while we are cleaning house, doing the dishes, reading a book, or just lying in bed. We should make the extra effort to wash and dress just as if we were physically present in the Church before Our Lord in the Tabernacle. If we are able let, us kneel, stand, and sit at the proper times just as if we were physically present. We should give our full attention to the words of God not only in the Epistles and Gospels, but also in the Words of the Holy Ghost spoken through His ordained minister who is inspired and guided by Him for our own salvation.

If the preacher were handing out jewelry: strings of pearls, chains of Gold, bracelets, rings, necklaces, etc. people would line up and show the greatest decorum so as to obtain the most precious items to decorate their bodies. The decorum would come naturally once they know that it is the condition necessary to obtain the best gifts. The preacher though, is not giving out adornments for our bodies, but for our souls, which are much more important.

We must thirst for this word of God with all eagerness. Very often the preacher is unaware of the appropriateness of his words for this or that particular soul. It is the Holy Ghost that gives to each soul what is most essential for him at that moment. Let us open up our hearts to Him at every sermon or spiritual reading with full attention and eager love so that we may receive the greatest benefit.
    SECOND DAY
Come, Thou Father of the poor!
    Come, with treasures which endure!
Come, Thou Light of all that live!

    THE GIFT OF FEAR
The gift of Fear fills us with a sovereign respect for God, and makes
us dread nothing so much as to offend Him by sin. It is a fear that
arises, not from the thought of hell, but from sentiments of
reverence and filial submission to our heavenly Father. It is the
fear that is the beginning of wisdom, detaching us from the worldly
pleasures that could in any way separate us from God. "They that fear
the Lord will prepare their hearts, and in His sight will sanctify
    their souls."

    Prayer

Come, O blessed Spirit of Holy Fear, penetrate my inmost heart, that
I may set Thee, my Lord and God, before my face forever, help me to
shun all things that can offend Thee, and make me worthy to appear
before the pure eyes of Thy Divine Majesty in heaven, where Thou
livest and reignest in the unity of the ever Blessed Trinity, God,
    world without end. Amen.
